Engraving Services

Newport Monument Company has the ability to engrave new or existing monuments and grave markers. New monuments are engraved at local engraving facility and then transported to the site. We also have a mobile engraving specialist who can easily work on your existing monument.

The process to engrave an existing monument or grave marker begins with identification of your monument. After the exact location is determined we will visit the site to take photographs and a physical rubbing in order to match the existing lettering size, style and layout. Once you provide our staff with the details for the name, dates, and any other information to be added, our staff will ask for a signed proof for a final review of the work. Every step of our process is important because granite engraving doesn’t have an eraser! After receiving your signed approval, our specialist will go to the cemetery to perform the engraving on site. Please be advised we do not engrave during the winter months, as there is a risk of cracking the monument or grave marker when temperatures dip below freezing. The entire process may take between two and eight weeks to complete, depending on the location, style and extent of the project.
